FiveShards presents the Wild Cup, Season 4 sponsored by Rated Hex!

Important note: we have clarified the faction requirements to be consistent with how the client interprets the keyword!

We are pleased to share with you the details of the FiveShards Wild Cup, Season 4 as presented by the Rated Hex team!  The tournament is happening this season due to Rated Hex’s sponsorship of the tournament. You can find all of Shard Cup tournament dates here.

As many of you know, our plan for the Wild Cup is for it to be the final cup of the regular season and, as such, offer a unique format. Thanks to HexEnt, the format for this cup is Faction Constructed!

To have a faction legal deck you must

  1. Have at least 1/3rd of your deck in troops from the same faction (Ardent or Underworld).
    1. For a 60 card deck, you need at least 20 faction troops. This requirement goes up by every three cards you include. A 62 card deck must have 20 faction troops, a 63-card deck must have at least 21 faction troops.
  2. Do not include troops from the opposing faction.
    1.  It’s possible to include opposing faction cards in your reserves and still have the deck be considered “legal”. Be aware that this will NOT let you actually use those cards, as trying to save your deck with them between rounds will result in an error. Please do NOT include opposing faction cards in your reserves, even as a joke.  We reserve the right to withhold prizes from anyone found ignoring this request.
  3. Neutral troops are acceptable once you have satisfied the faction requirement.
  4. You can only join the tournament if it is faction-legal

A legal deck will show the following keyword under the verification tab of the deckbuilder/collection tab:

The tournament will be under the “Special” tab of the battlegrounds within the client!

On October 9th, 9:00am PDT (17:00 CET), the greatest Entrathian shard-slingers will compete for a chance to take home the coveted Wild Cup; this is the fifth cup in the fourth season of the FiveShards Shard Cup Series.

The Wild Cup is faction constructed; all current PVP sets are legal and any current cards banned for competitive PVP are also banned for the tournament. The tournament will be Swiss followed by a cut to the top 8.

  1. This does not effect any of my ideas, but the champion selected has to match the faction as well? I hope so but either way cool format idea.

  2. Ah I see, still like the themed format idea for this event and look forward to it. Thanks for hosting as always..

  3. Do the 20 troops of the same faction have to be in the main board or if you have 20 total in the side and main board does that count?

  4. Super excited for the Cup! Thank you for the clarifications. ^_^
