Raklets – my deck does not have means to deal with constants which led to me being one-hit killed by the Heroic Outlaw twice in our match in swiss

Alpha, King wave. I’ve been playing TCG’s for almost 12 years, starting with russian game Berserk and then moving to WoW TCG when it was released.

Ruby+Sapphire, Draw-Go

What will be your toughest Matchup in the top 8?
I faced Veetor and the matchup against Shin’hare felt pretty unwinnable for me. It might get a bit better after boarding, but not much.

How long have you been playing Hex/other games?
I have been playing Hex right from the start of Alpha.
My start of “competitive” card gaming was Warlord CCG in 2002, which was a rather small card game published by AEG. I had some success there.
Afterwards I played WoW TCG, Game of Thrones LCG and MtG in bigger tournaments, with some small success, but nothing bigger. Also some online poker and e-sports, but just for fun.

Favorite shard combination?
Ruby/Sapphire seems to be the combination I always come back to, but anything with Sapphire really.

Favorite Quote?
“But there’s no sense crying over every mistake.
You just keep on trying till you run out of cake.”

What will be your toughest Matchup in the top 8?
Unfortunately Future who I am going to meet in quarterfinal.
He has a very anti aggro deck, especially against 1 def creatures, and I have exactly the deck he had built for …
Still have an idea, but it will be tough.

How long have you been playing Hex/other games?
since April 2015.
No competitive gaming experience, just really like Hex.

Favorite shard combination?
I love wild / saphire, no that it is the strongest I think but i like it !
I am still recent to Hex so I learn every day, but at the moment I think B/D is the strongest and the more versatile, especially with the sideboards possibilities

Favorite Quote?
“Change the way you see things and things will change”
(it is a translation, perhaps not perfect one)

Anything else we should know?
Just wanted to thank the organisers for this tournament (the format is great) , and the developers for the game

What will be your toughest Matchup in the top 8?
Well, since I lost to Errantsquire in the Swiss, I continue to fear that deck. My first game against Veetor should be interesting, as he has lots of early blockers that make it important to pick my spots, lest he play Extinction into Eulogy.

How long have you been playing Hex/other games?
Since Day 1. I kickstarted Grand King/Pro Player after hearing about Hex from fellow WoW TCG players. My first card game was the Dragonball Z CCG, but no one in my area really played it, so it was super casual. I got into MtG in college and continue to play when I can. I am very happy that lawsuit is finally over, though…

Favorite shard combination?
In MtG I play Esper, which is the equivalent of Blood/Diamond/Sapphire. The resources aren’t quite good enough for that combo yet, but I love the Sapphire Wild Coyotle Control with Winter Moon. The dino sideboard package against aggro is pretty backbreaking.

Favorite Quote?
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart,
and do not lean on your own understanding.
In all your ways acknowledge him,
and he will make straight your paths.”
Proverbs 3:5-6

Anything else we should know?
Excited to be able to play Hex with all these amazing competitors. this was a fun and different format that tested our deckbuilding skills more than netdecking the top decks (though we drew inspiration from them). Good luck to everyone, and have fun!

How long have you been playing Hex/other games?
I’ve been playing Hex for about 10 months. I’ve never played any kind of competitive game before.

Favorite shard combination?
I keep trying to do a Diamond Wild competitive deck. No success so far but I keep faith…

Favorite Quote?
In Tartiflette we trust.
