They swarmed through the Worldscar, and they just kept coming.
It is Spoiler Season again and that means Piecetinker has another spicy spoiler for you. So let’s jump into our spoiler!
As of writing this, I have a limited knowledge of the possible Terminus card types. So what is a Terminus? A Terminus is a troop type which can be seen labeled on some of the spoilers when Fusion was revealed. In particular, these are the cards that the Apocalytes fuse into. For example, when a Trollstench Apocolyte and a Bloodlech Apocolyte fuse, it becomes a Bloodstench Terminus. As seen in the diagram below:
The Bloodstench Terminus is one of many Terminus troop types that will exist in this set. That being said, Flawless Obliteron has a controlled random ability in that you can pay a given amount and have a good range of what troop you may get. Of course, at this time I do not have a full list, but I am excited to see the strength of the Terminus troops in the coming weeks.
So now that we got the “Terminus” troop type out of the way, what can we do with this card? A 5 cost 4/4 with Flight with a decently strong power is something you want in most Limited games. There is no doubt about it that you want to pick this up as a Pack 1, Pick 1 in a Draft. For Constructed, it may be a little too slow to go off. As noted, Obliteron is in the Diamond and Sapphire shards. This can be another win condition in a control deck, but I feel that Dark Heart of Nulzann is just too strong where you wouldn’t even want to add Obliteron to the deck. In a world where Dark Heart falls out of rotation, Obliteron can be a replacement. Depending on the rest of the set and if fixing is available, this card can be in a three-shard midrange deck.
Until then, let us keep speculating until the new set is fully out! Hope you enjoyed our first look at one of the Legendaries of Set 9: Doombringer!
